Through the Killer’s Mind

by Andrea   Jul 2, 2005

The night goes on, but for me I need…
Need something to get me through.
The storm is encouraging me to do this.
I am bold, I am dangerous…
Even feeling a bit excited.

I am evil. Not insane.
This girl will come one with fear.
She deserves this pain.
And it is quite fun for me.

The room is quiet except for
Her useless screams for help
That will never come to her aid.

The beauty of her skin weakens me
But I am still powerful and in control.
Using my left hand,
I touch her delicate cheek that is
Damp with her frightened tears.

“No one is coming, my darling.”

She squeals and I pity her.

Lying uncomfortably on the bed,
Her wrists chained to the headboard
And ankles to the backboard.
No escape.

From above, the ceiling perhaps,
She looks like an X,
Revealing a marked treasure.

But to me, she is the treasure.

She struggles to free herself,
I watch and admire.

The storm grows fierce,
And I, too, feel a stronger change.
With my spare right hand,
My grasp on the knife tightens
From behind my back.
I raise it high in the air…
She screams louder than ever…

Fulfillment of desire
Achieved in the night.
…The dark stormy night.

It is quiet again.
Silence creeps through the basement.

Miles and miles away
Civilization remains unaware.
