Melancholy Dream of a Poet

The piano plays soulfully as I write.
My mind and thoughts are drifting away.
Like a dream confused with day as night.
I gently close my eyes following the trance.

Along the beach, the sun warms my skin.
The breeze runs through my long hair
Delicately exposing my poignant face.
I tremble in this expected anticipation.

A sudden chill races up my spine.
Swiftly my head is lifted up with hope.
The wind is relatively calm and
The water gleams peacefully in my eyes.

Catching a glance of your shadow that left me,
I am pitied as the sky silently weeps for us.
My heart aches, longing for your special touch.
But I stare alone at the beautiful ocean reflecting me.

I awake with the same melancholy expression.
The piano still plays somewhat mournfully.
A tear quietly creeps down my blushed cheek.
The saltiness melts on my tongue while I write.

--sorry i haven't been on in so long. i can't get on the comp. so i'm at the library. i'll try to come here more often. so many things have happened as you will know through my next poems. i missed all of you so much. i'm so glad to be back!
