Empty Eyes

by Wintersolstice   Jul 7, 2005

Let me tell you a tale
One to chill your heart
It's about a broken girl
Whose soul was torn apart.

Cale was a girl of brown hair
Kind and just, true and fair
Blue eyes and a petite figure
Full of fire, strength and vigour

Cale was not of noble birth
What a shame that this was so
Because when she fell for such a boy
Her heart was filled with woe.

Cale loved the boy for so very long
He was her sun, her moon, her song
She watched the boy grow up so tall
Until he was no longer the boy, so small

But he fell for another in due time
And something took over Cale inside
A fire burned within her soul
Ignited by her misplaced pride

The pain, no longer growing
Had started at last overflowing
"All that matters is she dies"
Cried poor Cale with empty eyes.

Drained, exhausted and hollow
Was all that Cale became
The world had took too much
And she'd become insane

Malice flared within her voice
"Her" had gone now and had no choice
All that was left was an empty shell
That cared not and feared no hell

She shot them both and herself that day
Did broken Cale with the empty eyes
And apparently on cold harsh winter nights
You may still be able to hear their cries.

Breathtakingly beautiful. The rhyming wasn’t as great towards the end, but it still works well…I love it.
