Revamped

The night has returned
My day comes to a start
Another night of struggle
To mend my broken heart

I see her in my dreams
She knew me in the past
But I can't show my face
Our love could not last

Twenty years to the day
I was taken from her world
My soul thrust down to hell
As my entire life was unfurled

But should I be thankful
To have this amazing gift
Immortality and power
Though the pain doesn't lift

I will watch her once again
As I do every single night
Until her door swings closed
Once she has left my sight

I would trade it all away
To have a heart beat again
To have what we once had
The way we were back then

Liked it. Got into the mind of the narrator. The story allowed it to be an overall poem everybody could get into. Good job.
