Quiet Town

Was he really so evil
Everyday I will ponder
A man of the night
He was doomed to wander

His back to the world
That turned him so crude
But in the presence of us
He'd never think to be rude

What lengths would you go to
If your survival was in question
Would you drink the blood of man
If it was your newest obsession

Killing was not a requirement
He only took what he needs
Extremely passionate bonding
Was always shared when he feeds

I received the call late at night
They said he had broken in
When I arrived at the house
There were noises from within

I proceeded with extreme caution
To the bedroom of the house
There they were entangled
Blood dripping from his mouth

Without time to even think
I fired round after round
They penetrated his pale white skin
But no trace of blood could be found

He vanished moments later
His victim lying on the bed
She was going to make it
Though her neck stained in red

By the time the paramedics arrived
She had made a full recovery
No more wounds on her delicate neck
No more need of extensive surgery

He left our quiet little town
I watched him from a distance
Ne never even looked back
From his path of least resistance
