There was an old man from Scilly
Who ate nothing but chili
He soon gave some wind
And everyone there grinned
At the bloated old man from Scilly

Limerick:
From the Irish town of Limerick, originally a pub song or part of a tavern song chorus. Usually bawdy and humorous in nature.

Short and simple, usually only 5 lines. The form consists of 5 anapaestic lines.

Lines 1, 2 & 5 have 7 - 10 syllables and rhyme with one another. Lines 3 & 4 have 5 - 7 syllables and rhyme with each other.
