Dragon and the Phoenix (Doditsu)

Intro: In China the Dragon and the Phoenix are symbols of royalty, they represent the King and Queen. In addition they are also symbolic of male and female. The Dragon and the Phoenix are both mythical creatures thought to bring good luck by the Chinese. Images are displayed at Chinese weddings. In Cantonese, the Dragon is pronounced "Loong" and the Phoenix is pronounced "Fung."

The Dragon and the Phoenix
Always with one another
One male, one female

Doditsu:
A fixed folk song of Japanese origin and often portrays love or humour as subject matter.

It comprises 26 syllables made up of 4 lines of 7-7-7-5 syllables respectively. It usually does not rhyme.
