Burying a Friend

The tears slip down my face
As i watch your coffin be lowered into the hole
That will be called your final resting place forever on
A Oak casket with cherry inlays of a setting sun
Its beautiful just like you
Why oh Why dear friend
why Did you not reach out
I was here all the time
It didn't have to end like this
You were beautiful and funny
I look back and remember the good times
I look back and I see how you helped me when i was feeling down
You were reaching out and i just let you fall
A tear rolls down my cheek
Clouds fill the sky it begins to rain
The sky is missing it sunshine
Its missing you
Just like I'm missing you to
Please come back my sunshine
I bow my head and begin to sob
Please come back

    The sunshine bit, thats so strong, thats actully heartbreaking. Itsjust such an amazing poem, i feel for you xxx we lost a friend recently and your poem...just, wow.

    Oh god, I'm sitting at work and that just made me want to cause a big scene and cry... it's so so sad, such a beautifully written, powerful poem. I am so sorry. I just lost my friend too and it's killing me. Stay strong and keep writing xxx
