Rhyme and Flow

by ---AL---   Jan 15, 2006

The Rhyme scheme and syllable count have important meaning in this poem... It's not written clunky by accident.

Rhyme And Flow
Don't play these little games,
Like I'm a deck of cards,
Spread out across your hand,
To face you as you wish,
Because deep down I know,
That like these many words
You're love will never rhyme.

And if you changed it would be so,
Some rhyme without flow,
So impossible to read,
But consistency is what I need,
As well as love with rhyme
To show you're willing to spend the time,
And not try to make a work of art,
Without some rhyme, or flow, or even heart...

I'll spend that extra time,
To make something with rhyme,
Pure love with constant flow,
That will not come and go,
For when I choose to start,
I'll make that Work of art,
That will not want to end,
Or even just pretend,
Yet still I'll never know,
The feeling of such flow,
Or even love with rhyme,
So long you waste my time,
So now I bid good bye,
For never did you try,
To give both heart and soul,
In every word you told,
And all this rhyme and flow,
Is a way for you to know
I give my heart and soul,
In everything I mould.
