By The Grace Of God.

By The Grace Of God:

By the grace of God,
we all have our fair share.
But do we ponder and
think of those who have not?

Many stricken by poverty and famine
from the very day of their birth.
No choice as to their actual worth,
not one day goes without suffering.

Whilst we enjoy our creature comforts,
there are those whose life is so very thin.
Is this not a sin,
for such divides in this day and age?

Could we all not strive to do more
for those less fortunate and the poor?
We could all make this a better earth,
if we all take some time to make it work!

Share in your good fortune and health,
spend some time for those in need.
Evey little step will help
toward making this a more beautiful world.

Stop and think what you can do for those who have so little, what you could do? Some volunteer social work for charity? There are so many around us who don't even have one square meal a day. You can make a difference!

You are so right, each of us can make a difference in the lives of others and more importantly each of us should. You have written a beautiful mantra on living better and helping those who need us. Beautiful poem.

    Steve,
your words echo the sentiments that so often run in my mind. there is so much we can do, but finally, most of us are content to be wrapped in that little cocoon we build around us.

thank you very, very much for your wonderful comments and nice words. There is so much I am learning from this site and experienced poets like you.

I did make the correction in the 6th line - i think this site has a inbuilt typo error for the apostrophe.

    thanks and take care

    best regards
