Poster Child

by Lu   Mar 2, 2006

A face upon a milk carton
child taken from the hands of love
mother's,father's weeping eyes
praying please help me,to God above

Begging for her child's safety
praying she's still alive
struggling through another day
trying to survive

Each and every day
thousands of children taken
ending an innocent life
when will this world awaken ?

Maybe open our eyes a little wider
take things at a slower pace
take a look at a missing child's poster
you may have seen that face

As a mother I know myself
my child is never safe enough for me
just to imagine a parent's pain
is the most heartbreaking thing to see

At this moment as I clasp my hands together
imaging this child's fear
upon my knees praying for every child's safety
as I wipe a saddened tear

This strikes so close to home with me, because I am so petrified of some stranger kidnapping my child. You see the news and all these missing children and it puts fear into your heart. I'm so overprotective with my son and he hates it, but with the predators out there you have to be.
    Very well done.
