A Day's Nightfall- Series 1- Part I- The First Morning

..........
..........
..........
I wake up

I blink a few times gingerly
Thinking that every time I do
The world will fall perfectly
In its shallow place

I let free a long deep sigh
Turn over
And turn off the beeping sound
Reading 7:30 am

I get out of bed
Observing my surroundings
Feeling as if I have never
Laid eyes on the bright air

Dust floats on past the window
Through the rays of the sun peeking inside
Hitting the floor
As I feel lost between the echoes

I lean on the brim of the window
Look out below
At the dolls that God has placed
In the crowded streets

How so pathetic they look
So lost in this dismal world
From the ashes to the ashes
To the dust to the dust

I look up
The white clouds flouting on
So lush
And yet they're placed in a scene so inapt

With the up and down so surreal
I turned to the ahead behind me
Walked to the bathroom door
And grasped the knob

Inside it seemed so bleak and austere
A soft blue light from the glass on the wall
It's cracked
And the beam twists

Stepping lightly
As if the sky would fall and plunge me six feet under
I loom into the mirror
And leisurely look up at myself

So beaten from the lack of rest
Such a stranger
I open the small mirror door
For toothpaste and the brush

As I finish
I spit it all out
Great job I thought
It was white, no pink

I step out
Look around again
Now with trust
And walk to my desk chair

Pulling off the sweat pants and shirt off the seat
I walk to my bed
And change
In hopes for some fresh air

I walk to the front door of the apartment
Accustoming to the new material
Step out
And lock the door

A poem that reads like a story? Intresting. Especially when I know how hard it is to write first person but you seem to have done that very well.
