Rumors

by Kaylee   Mar 22, 2006

I know you are talking about me.
Your words mean nothing though.
Just another whispering voice.
I think I’ve heard them all before.

Have you seen that girl?
Do you know what happened?

I keep my head low when I walk.
I keep staring at the ground below.
It doesn’t talk about me, at least.
It holds the footprints of my past.

I think she’s just overreacting.
Maybe she wants attention.

You just pretend I don’t see you,
Passing notes across the classroom.
Writing down another rumor that
You plan to tell more people about.

Shouldn’t she be over this by now?
Is she wearing a fake smile?

I think I’ve heard about every one.
Everything that they’ve been saying.
It doesn’t bother me as much anymore.
You’ll always be spreading rumors.

Very relatable...they say the pen is mightier then the sword but the malice that can be put behind rumours and icy stares is sometime incomparable. This was another well written poem different from some of your usual poems. I liked it superbly composed.

    Very nice.
If it doesn't bother you any more, why walk with your head down?

Don't listen to the others, they are obviously not out to see the real you, and thus, do not matter.
