Forsaken

by Avellana   Apr 8, 2006

Looking out the window
Watching the world go by
Comforted by a blanket
But not understanding why

Sleep nudges my consciousness
As limbs once tense, unwind
Nothing here can harm me
At least until tonight

At this moment I am protected
From myself, I'm safe
My brain is slowly shutting down
Relax, there's not much left

Hair falls around my shoulders
As I sink into my chair
Trying to choose the right words
Almost... but never quite there

What was it that brought me here?
Was it the wish I made?
My mind was blank but words fell out
It was then I knew I failed

The only time my barriers' down
When I'm pouring out my... heart
Thoughts are spinning, out of control
And hope starts to fall apart

This didnt set out to be a part 1 thing... jus ended up as one.
Think am going the long way round to find the point to this poem.

Ah wow! Excellent poem, the last stanza so relates to me, I felt the true emotion in this poem. It lure me in until the end, and even though it doesn't have one topic to dwell upon, I like that because it can get you thinking.Keep it up! xxx
