X Beautiful Apple Core

by Sole   Apr 12, 2006

Lying, lonely, in the rain
The greenish hue begins to fade
Droplets, falling to the drain
The apple core remains unswayed

To the naked eye, it seems
The apple core is old and dead
But in the world of countless dreams
The apple core is way ahead

Two-toned, colours blend
The dark green, and the lighter core
Twirling in circles that never end
Dancing, in the rain, on the floor

Apple cores are never the same
Individuals, red or green
They way they're bitten determines the frame
Eye-like pips that stare, but never see

The apple core is a beautiful fruit
For though eaten, it remains as so
Green and pale, mysteriously mute
And from this perfection, a plant will grow.

Wow. I would never have looked at an apple core like that before.

I particularly liked this stanza although the whole thing was beautifully written.
You show an amazing talent of perspective. Keep it up.
