X Missing Pieces

by Sole   Apr 23, 2006

Sitting, playing in the light
Putting a puzzle together
The final image is in sight
You try hard to forget her

How she came into your life
Friendly like the remedy
Then drew out her knife
Stabbing, like the enemy

Puzzle pictures forming
As you enter in the space
Happy memories, warming
Try to forget her face

How she came into your mind
Smiling, in perfection
Leaving her behind
You show her just rejection.

Picture becomes clearer
Easier to visualise
Like looking to a mirror,
Trying to forget her eyes

You turned your back on her
Though she never showed hate
It's her face you blur
Just because you couldn't relate

The puzzle's almost done
You've nearly finished your game
And every part but one
Is inserted in the frame

How she was always there
Though you showed her no release
The only one who truly cares,
She is your missing piece

I like the use of the extended metaphor. Women are a subject I am much less than perfect in, haha. Yet another great write!!!
