Goodnight Dear Grandmother

by Rain   Jun 28, 2006

You fell over, nearly dead
you head wouldn't stop bleeding
we rushed you to the hospital
we thought you could make it
you did, at least for a while...
so you came and left the hospital
you sat at home, breathing on batteries
not much left in you, i loved you
i visited as much as i was allowed
we gave you a milk shake, a treat
later you went back to the hospital
leukemia, thats what they told me.
she had leukemia and wouldn't get better
now she lies in the hospital, and i sit
i sit, waiting for her slow painful death, that i wish to go away
the reaper's paying a visit to my poor, dear Nana.

o how i remember the coke floats we made together when i came over
we watched TV all day, to be lazy
but now you must watch TV in a hospital room with your neighbor.
I'm all alone in this cruel world. i love you and goodbye.

Aw! I'm so sorry about your grandmother, thats so sad! It was a good poem though, it flowed really well. May your grandmother rest in peace.
