Phoenix.

by Steven Beesley   Jul 5, 2006

Phoenix:

Unwitting in his actions,
yet he could not see
all the consequences of what
he did; the error of his ways.

Slain brutally by his tainted
and poisoned sword,
I shall arise again
like the phoenix; reborn
from those fiery ashes.

Stronger and revitalized.
For he shall never silence
the truth that needs to be
told, there are too many of us.

His cowardice and thoughtless
acts have but brought his
own timely and permanent demise
for which he can never resurrect himself.

Well done on this one Steve. What you say is true: bitterness and vengence does bring about its own end. And goodness always rises - from ashes and from the worst of times.

Your work is always such an inspiration to read.

    Excellent metaphor, the pheonix.

    I shall arise again
    like the phoenix; reborn
    from those fiery ashes.

    Wonderful write.

The phoenix has many of us in awe.
Your words are truly inspirational, especially if I am understabding the underlying meaning behind the words!
    Well done!
