She Couldn't Tell The Truth

She Couldn't Tell The Truth

You were her everything,
Why couldn't you see?
She loved you with all her heart,
But you said it could never be.

You loved another girl,
And couldn't be with her,
"We can still be friends",
You said, while she whimpered.

She smiled while you both hugged,
It was not what she wanted,
But she needed you in her life,
Her heart had now rotted.

Day in and day out,
She would fake a smile,
Faking that she was happy,
Her number you never dialed.

One black stormy day,
She saw you with her,
You kissed her lips,
But to her it was all a blur.

She couldn't take it anymore,
She ran home crying,
She went to her room,
She felt like dying.

The knife was under her bed,
She reached for it slowly,
Placed it against her wrist,
Handled it as if it were holy.

"I can't live like this",
Was all she said,
Sliced her delicate skin,
Then fell on the bed.

She died because of you,
You couldn't see her pain,
But she couldn't tell the truth,
Now who should we blame?

@...The last 4 stanzas were my favourite....they just put the whole poem in its place. Some of the rhyming sounded a tad bit forced but it was good all the same:)...@5/5

I can certainly relate to that as I witnessed a similar situation with a dear friend of mine. Truly a sad story but well written... Keep up the great work! 5/5
