Innocence of Childhood

by *Charisma*   Aug 18, 2006

I see all the love I have
Wrapped up in that little girl
And if darkness should consume us all
She could still light the world

She has an innocence we lose
Somewhere along the way
And if only we could get it back
We\'d live a happier day

For love is her only world
And hate she has never known
even in her imagination
Such hurtful things don\'t grow

There are only dreams of ponies,
And princesses with pink gowns
The music she sings is joy
And she wears it like a crown

Once we too did dream
Of all those beautiful things
Before we knew the troubles
That this world will bring

But if only for a moment
Just a pause in our busy day
We could be like her
That would be a happy place
