How?

by *Charisma*   Aug 21, 2006

After all of these years of friendship
What made us finally let go
What limb on this tree was too weak
And decided to no longer grow

What quick arrow pierced our hearts
And divided us into two
What harsh words were said to break us
And seperate me and you

We used to be tighter than ropes on a ship
So who loosened the knots on the cord
What shooting star came whizzing by
And distracted, our friendship ignored

What trip put the miles between us
So we can't retrace our turns
What raging fire destroyed our trust
How did we watch it burn

We should have payed more attention
And watched closely all of the signs
But now we are falling apart
Because we let ourselves become blind

Maybe now that the fog has lifted
And we've payed this outstanding cost
We can restore our friendship
And regain what we both have lost
