Getting Old

by *Charisma*   Sep 11, 2006

He wandered 'round the house one day
Searching hard for his keys
I reminded him he couldn't drive
Not since the year of 93

He looked at me with a blank stare
And said, "Oh yeah, I forgot."
But continued searching anyway
Like I had spoken, naught

Later on he had an apple pie dessert
With whipped cream on the top
By the time he went for thirds
I had to tell him to stop

He said that I wasn't being fair
Since I had had some too
I assured him he had had a slice
But left out that he'd had two

He later went to pick out a movie
And I complained I'd seen it before
I knew this was a definite fact
Since the year it came out was 64

But living with him isn't always bad
For he forgets the mistakes I've done
And when I make them all again
He forgives like it's the first one!
