Heart in the Desert

by The Queen of Spades   Sep 18, 2006

Down in the valley
Lies a heart--
Unwavering in a sense
To the chill,
In a world, where light
Does not exist

It beats, it bleeds
On dry, cracked soil
A terrain, so
Ironically, like itself

Up, in a blue-black sky
Is a reflection
Of a beaten, battered organ
And in a place
Where clouds never conceal
Truth is always colliding

And so onward
Forward, moves the heart
Silently immobile
In the valley with no words
