What Else You Killed

by Goran Rahim   Sep 18, 2006

Since you have left
Yesterday
For the first time
I passed by your house
But nothing was the same.
All of the leaves were wilted
All of the birds were crying
Singing your name.
They were all screaming
Asking me how you are.
I screamed back
Telling them
All I know is
She is too far.
For your absence
We all cried
As the pain could not be healed
So now you know
After you left
Beside my heart
What else you killed.

Again you have proven that you can render me near speechless with your poems. I really enjoyed reading this. It was short, but far from simple. You have a magnificent way of touching the reader with your beautiful words. Keep up the great work. I hope that you are not still angy with me. :(

Great job. The common thing for me or other readers to do is judge a poem by a certain style. This free-style poem of yours remind me of some well-known poets. The poem was clear and had a variety of words. The only change I would make is add "have" in "What else have you killed"

    Great job
