Maiden's Dream of Love

by *Charisma*   Sep 23, 2006

Lonely maiden sitting in a garden
Upon a white weathered bench
Thinking of what love is like
A thirst she has yet to quench

Sitting so still she seems a statue
Like the others in this yard
Her face is more than beautiful
But inside she carries scars

She's never had a broken heart
But wishes for one everyday
At least to feel what she's never touched
Even if it's in the painful way

She watched her sisters and friends
Marry the man of their childish dreams
Maid of honor in a soft pink dress
Is her role in life so it seems

So she wanders through the town
Almost everyday that she can
Hoping that one of these times
She'll happen upon a lonely man

Whose heart isn't broken from love
But from emptiness that eats inside
And he'll look upon her heart
And want to make her scars aright

Then she'll wander to this garden
With his hand wrapped in hers
They'll sit on the white weathered bench
Loneliness will melt with the lovers
