Helping Me

by *Charisma*   Oct 3, 2006

Digging deeper inside
Reaching into my soul
Fingertips stretching to grasp
What they can't seem to hold

I'm searching for myself
I know for a fact she's here
She talks to me in private
Then quickly disappears

Battle scars and bruises
Cover her outer shell
Friendships gone and broken
Loves that flew then fell

Disappointments kept growing
Depressiong followed along
Gnawing at her pride
Until she felt no longer strong

So I'm her door to outside
I speak for her lost voice
I smile and move like she would
Since she doesn't have that choice

She says she'd like to visit
Come outside to try once more
So I'll trade places with her
As this option she explores

This time I'll go into hiding
And maybe not come out again
If she finds that she can make it
And this world she can withstand

So goodbye to all of you
Who love this image I've portrayed
The true me is coming out
And this time is here to stay

This was a very intriguing(sp?) poem. It certaintly rhymes well and flows nicely, but it also seems to open your eyes to something new. Fantastic work, I cannot wait to read more of your work. x33

P.S. Thanks for the comment on one of my songs. :]

That was an excellent poem. Very bold. Some words of advice from one person that truly knows. ALWAYS be yourself. No matter what. Because you can't live a lie forever. I love you're use of words and the way you played that poem out. Definitely a 5 on my part.

This was really good Jpoet. I really liked how you were going to switch places with her like she was a COMPLETELY different person. Great job!
