Girl Who Broke Your Heart

by *Charisma*   Oct 20, 2006

I am your best friend
We've been like that for years
Shared all of life's joys
And sadly, all of life's fears

I watched you tell her
All the love you held inside
How you felt it all along
You had such joy in your eyes

But I silently saw her
As she turned you away
She said she liked you
But it wasn't the same way

You were so distraught
All confused and injured
I couldn't bear looking
I wanted to yell at her

I wanted to tell her off
To really put her in her place
To ask why she did that
Ask her right to her face

Then I wished to hug you
Tell you that you'd be okay
Say, "let's go to the movies,
And just blow off today."

But my desire was flawed
One fault in it you see
The one you love so much
Well, that girl is me

I think that twist at the end is so ironic 'cause as soon as I heard the title I thought I should write a poem about how I turned someone away but wouldn't reveal that until the end and write it liek it was someone else I was talking about. We think waaay too much alike, LOL! Great job! I loved it, really. Keep it up!
