Missing You.

"Hello Darling, I miss you quite terribly,"
(He mutters under his breath to a torn photograph.)
"So tragic - losing you to the bright city,"
(He holds the picture close to his heart.)
"Your ways have changed, they ate you alive,"
(Tears roll down from his lonely eyes.)
"There's no turning back for you; you're stuck,"
(He stares to the photo at the girl he once knew.)
"I told you I'd wait for you forever, but it's been too long,"
(He takes a shot of whiskey and slams the bottle down.)
"And forever never seemed so damn far away,"
(He wipes the tears from his cheek.)
"But I'm missing you babe...missing you,"
(He grips the picture tightly in his sweating palm.)
"My words are slurred and my head is pounding,"
(He engraves her name into a silver bullet.)
"But these four walls are taking my breath away,"
(He looks to the memories surrounding him.)
"And no longer will I stand here and fight for you,"
(He loads the gun and holds it to his beating temple.)
"When I know you're not fighting for me,"
(He lays his shaking finger upon the trigger.)
"But I'm missing you babe...missing you,"
(He gently pushes the trigger down as he takes a deep breath.)
"So call me a liar for not waiting; I couldn't do this anymore..."
(He pushes the trigger as blood enlaces the walls around him.)

"Oh my Darling, how I do miss you so,"
(She whsipers as she packs her bags.)
"This life has taken a hold of me,"
(She stares to a shattered picture frame.)
"And I am ready to come home now,"
(She zips her bag and grabs her smokes.)
"I know you told me you'd wait forever,"
(She turns off the light and opens the door.)
"But if you moved on, I don't blame you,"
(She walks down the hall toward the doors.)
"I guess I just wanted to say; I'm missing you babe...missing you,"
(She waves good-bye to the clerk and opens the door.)
"A twelve hour bus ride and I'll be home in your arms,"
(She gets her ticket stamped and boards the empty bus.)
"And I promise I will never leave your side again,"
(She puts her bags down and sits in the torn seat.)
" 'Cause I'm missing you babe...missing you."
(The bus starts down the deserted highway as she closes her eyes.)

"Hello Darling, I miss you quite terribly,
So tragic - losing you to the bright city,
Your ways have changed; they ate you alive,
There's no turning back for you - you're stuck.
I told you I'd wait for you forever; but It's been too long,
And forever never seemed so damn far away!
But I'm missing you babe...missing you,
My words are slurred and my head is pounding,
But these four walls are taking my breath away.
And no longer will I stand here and fight for you,
When I know you're not fighting for me.
But I'm missing you babe...missing you,
So call me a liar for not waiting; I can't do this anymore..."

(The burning angels read aloud as they mourned this tragic affair,
Of two torn lovers entwined in blood from this despair.
Tears rolled down from their blood stained eyes,
As they read the smeared ink scribbled between the lines.)

"Oh my Darling, how I do miss you so,
This life has taken a hold of me -
And I am ready to come home now.
I know you told me you'd wait forever,
But if you moved on; I don't blame you.
I guess I just wanted to say; I'm missing you babe...missing you.
A twelve hour bus ride and I'll be home in your arms,
And I promise I will never leave your side again;
'Cause I\'m missing you babe...missing you."

(Words echoed through a sober angels head,
As she found the secrets coated in red.
Two promises kept hidden in two decaying hearts,
She knows the story - she played the part.)

That was ... INCREDIBLE! I mean, just breathtaking! I am so glad I read it and it kept me intrigued the whole way through. Oh! And I wanted to thank you so much for your poem in my contest. It was my first and I was afraid of how it would turn out, but I was really pleased. So thank you so much for that. Keep up the excellent work! :)
