In the Shadows of the Sun

Sunny days remind me of better times
When it actually shined down on me
Now I stand in the shadows it makes
Only to admire where I'll never be

To look upon the beautiful rays
How they caress everything they touch
I yearn to step into their golden light
To feel needed and loved as much

Then to experience the falling rain
Refreshing my soul, cleansing my mind
Freeing me from whatever my pain
Causing me to forget all I've left behind

If only to be loved as the flowers are
To be taken care of, admired, adored
To bad I'm in the shadows of the sun
Dreaming of a life, I've never explored.
