I'm Strong

by *Charisma*   Dec 14, 2006

I'm through with crying.
Those last tears I've shed
Are lying on my pillow
In my once sleepless bed.

But now I can dream,
Smile, laugh, and hope,
Life is as bad as it seems,
But I've learned to cope.

The news will keep showing
The mess the world's in.
But I'll be the person
To take it all on the chin.

I won't shrivel in the corner
Or fade into the crowd.
I'm not the kind to give up
To turn in, or walk out.

My manner stays meek
And my voice always steady.
If someone needs me,
I'm willing and ready.

For I've battled my fears
And I won the final war.
Now I'll help others
Like I was helped before.

Wonderful ending stanza, this whole poem has a note of braveness to it. And it's true about the news, they always seem to show whats wrong with the world, never whats write and they always show one right before i go to bed so i have nightmares! lol
Great rhythm on this one, i liked it.
