Is It Justified?

Do you recall your mother's words
"It's not okay to fight."
Remember turning the other cheek
No matter what the plight.

If ever in school you fought
To the principal you went away
Punished for your wrong actions
Feeling guilty all that day

So if it wasn't okay then
To return a fist for a fist
Is it really any better now
Just because hatred's hit

Is it okay to take innocent lives
Of people you've never met
Hit them, shoot them, kill them
And the Golden Rule forget

Just because his fist's a gun
Does that make everything all right
To make sure he goes down first
He too thinks he should fight

Both sides pray to God for help
Do you really think he'll choose?
He made ALL of us
And NONE does he want to lose

Just like two little boys
Fighting at school
The principal's waiting
To enforce the rules
