Godloved little kid

by ShootingStar179   Dec 25, 2006

Spreading the news of Christmas cheer,
Gingerbread houses and sugar cookies,
Snow piled high on rooftops
There is something missing
I wish you were here

You always smiled from ear to ear,
Always whistling a happy tune,
Now I do not hear those happy sounds anymore,
It hurts more than I thought,
I miss you the most this time of year.

You are the reason I am the girl I became,
I was your sweetheart, godloved little girl,
You were smart and kind,
Then you were diagnosed with that wretched disease,
And you forgot your little granddaughters name

Up in the heavens you are laying with God,
Thinking of us still living without you,
Sometimes it is hard to deal with the loss,
I still love you as I always did,
I will always be your little godloved kid.

Awww Courtney sweets, the holidays are a time when we seem to miss those we love the most.
The disease may have made them forget your name hun but no matter what they always hold you in their heart.

This poem sure did bring a tear to my eye, but remember hun, those we love and have passed on are always just a memory away. All you have to do is close your eyes and there they are.

    Many hugs deary!
