Disintegration

by The Queen of Spades   Jan 17, 2007

I spoke of ignorance
But also forgetting my place
A word against
Surely not to be accepted here
For only their ignorance they accept.
I was foolish to think
That they had changed overnight by some miracle
Kill the thoughts of hate to me
The hate of my thoughts
My independence frightens
Only in their darkest hearts
Do they admit themselves,
For face value
They are both so informed
But when it comes to the soul
They are slaves to the old
The ancient, archaic ways
Their hypocrisy baffling
They tell of acceptance
But do not practice themselves
Their own minds fooling
Thinking they are not outdated, old
But they breathe down on me
Me, the slimy little rat
For speaking my own thoughts
Clawing at my mind
Eating my soul alive
For I am dead.
