Forgotten

by ben thompson   Feb 3, 2007

The word forgotten I don't too often use.
But its a perfect fit when it comes to me and you.

Forgotten are the weekend eves of laughter and joys shared.
Forgotten are the sweet perfumes, soft feel of your hair.
Forgotten are the romantic nights with just you and me.
Forgotten because I'm happy, happy to be free.
Forgotten are the fights, screaming on the porch.
Forgotten are the sleepless nights, pacing back and forth.

I've forgot it all, good and bad alike.
I've regained my sanity, now I sleep at night.
I've found myself a love so strong and true.
All the joy I found was after I forgot you.

written by ben thompson about my busted marriage.

It is ironic that in the moment when the one you love hurts you, you feel as though you can not live without them and then looking back now, you see you were better off without that person. Nice job. I like the repetition.

I really like this line, it really stood out for me out the poem. I'm not sure what it is about it that I love so much. I guess it's just all 100% true. You gotta regain sanity to sleep at night, and I loved it! You're awesome!
