A Canvas Of Words

by Sarah Ann   Feb 3, 2007

She sat along a forlorn road,
Contemptuous was I,
And she was smiling; face so bold.
When I was passing by

Distasteful figure in my view
Clothing strewn across the ground
And as I walked, somehow she knew.
She hummed an ugly sound

My frown contorted many ways
Her smile grew in light
As I approached; she looked away
Certainly impolite.

Her finger tips were soft but strong
As the paintbrush fit her hand
To my despair, t'was like a song
I couldn't even stand.

Colors of many shadings,
Twinkled gaily in the dark
To me it was atrocity.
To her it was an art.

Wow this poem is awsome.. I loved it and ur found the perfect category to place it under. The last two lines sumed up the entire thing just magically. It reminds me of the old saying "one mans junk is another mans treasure" and its true whats wonderful and pure to one person can become horrific and appaling to another person. Very nicely written. thanx for the comment
