A Way to Cope

A Way to Cope

Little moments of time
blurred by a mixed drink.
Trying to escape the past,
it's easier than a shrink.

Going to forget
I cants stand a mans touch.
Going to forget
Daddy liked little girls too much.

I'm going to live
for my son and me.
Stop dying inside,
and try to be free.

I'm going to find a way,
somehow, to cope.
Going to forget my dead baby daughter
whose name was Hope.

I'm going to forget,
the endless, endless tears.
The ones that cant be erased
by any number of beers.

A whiskey sour
doesn't giver her back her breath.
It doesn't change
the fact of her death.

Going to stop drinking,
cause life is so great.
A world where children
can be killed and raped.

But I've got to stop.
Find a way to cope.
For my son and baby daughter.
Whose name was Hope.

Awe, such sad poem, but beautifully written.
Your words were really heartfelt, and I could feel
the emotions coming out of each line.
The flow was a bit rocky, but the poem was still good.
    In the 2nd, 4th, and 6th stanzas..
if the lines were more even, the flow would even out more.
[Just a thought] :] Anyway, great write 5/5

Definately a touching poem, I think we've all got lost in the bottle a time or two looking for help....the reality is it just numbs the pain for a little while. Great job 5/5 GG23

Oh wow.. This was absolutely..amazing.. I have chills running down my spine and tears coming to my eyes. I don't have any other way to express the feeling that I got from this poem other than "tear wrenching". It was beautiful, and the emotion in it was simply overwhelming.
