My Troubled Past

by Nick who Plays Pool   Apr 7, 2007

As I walk across the land, through the wasteland since life began
Ive been through so much pain; the years have passed since then
Life's been rough since it began, and its starting to look up
And then it all fell back down again.

Since it began when life was young, it grew until enough was enough
And then things began to pass, time was going by so fast
As I walk the world, through my troubled past Ive known
I feel the pain again and again, until I cannot feel anymore alone.

So as I look ahead, to the future Ive been waiting for
Things started to die, and as I run away from it all
I look back again and again, to find out who I am
Because the past is the key
To the future I see
And I'm hiding the lock deep down inside of me.

The syllables are somehow not compatible but the wording and flow is good
    I especially liked those

    The past is the key
    To the future I see.

    Keep it up nick

    This is a great poem.
    Very well stated.
    Although...
    Maybe you should space out
    The lines a bit more.
    For example:
The past is the key, to the future I see.
    You could turn that into
    The past is the key
    To the future I see.
    Other than that, well done.
