Society's Collapse

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   May 11, 2007

Scream for change,
Open up your mouth and speak,
Society is corrupt,
Our will is oh so weak.

Open your eyes and look around,
See what we have become,
A society where no one cares,
Where even children are numb.

Every generation is becoming worse,
Losing touch with reality,
Turning to new ways of dealing,
Letting go of morality.

Can't you see we do this to ourselves,
Our pain is self-inflicted,
We are losing ourselves in illusions,
To which we are addicted.

Take some time to take a look,
Open your eyes and see,
Our society is crumbling,
It isn't what it used to be.

I soooo wrote about this in the paper!
only it sounded more like an article than a poem, obvioiusly.

Unfortunately the people who need to read this are too busy burning our children's futures to bother reading poetry. One canonly hope that St Peter is surrounded by great poets. An excellently built piece of work. Neil.
