Feels Like Fire

Pick up the pieces from your hideous damage --
Give me back my heart and go down with the bridge,
I`m throwing kerosene, the confetti to celebrate the ending --
Because everything you say to me is so condescending.

Through your fake smile it`s not hard to see you pretend,
You`re just about as fake as a child`s imaginary friend;
And through my gritted teeth I mutter out sweet poetry --
Reminiscing the time when you turned around on me.

And I see you standing there with all the beautiful strangers,
But I can still detect that you wish it was me and not her,
So you can pretend that a spine isn`t something you lack --
Turn around on me again and I`ll pretend to stab you in the back.

I`m blasting that tape we made a few summers ago,
Looking to a picture of a boy that I used to know --
Feel the heat around the edges caving in around your heart;
I bet it feels like fire, and you can count on it ripping you apart.
