Maw Mawz

by Nelle   Feb 1, 2008

I miss you maw mawz, I really do
It's been five months since your life's been through
It feels like forever since you've been here
I wish I could make you reappear

I started back school, if you didn't know
I'm leaving this town, but it's going by so slow
I'm studying hard, and doing my best
I'll be someone some day, if I pass my State test

I'm doing what I can to make you proud
I'm moving from a small city to a big crowd
No matter what I do you're on my mind
Moving along, I won't leave your memory behind

You taught me a lot as I got older
You taught me how to become more bolder
You were one smart woman, I have to admit
No matter what you did, you'd always commit

I know you're up in the heavens above
I think of you most when I see a white dove
I hope God is treating you the best he can
I hope he is really the most powerful man

I wish I knew if you are okay
Please, maw mawz, give me a sign today
My daddy misses you more than you know
But unlike me, he won't let it show

You raised a great man, you and my paw paw
I hope he's also the first one you saw
I hope you two are getting along
I think of you both when I hear that song

I look at night for both of your stars
I can still see you, even though you're so far
I wish every day that you would come back
Because it's you, maw mawz, that we lack.

In loving memory of Virginia Boles. 08/15/07

Aww such a sad poem I'm sorry for
    your loss. Accepting someones death
is the hardest part, and you did a great
job with that. I think this poem should
be under family. But great job.

Awww. I thought that was really sweet and touching. I really enjoyed reading it. It made my think of my grandmother. She's not gone yet, but it made me think about when she does. Great job!

    Keep writing!
