Between Two Hearts (Cinquain)

by Meena Krish   Apr 29, 2011

From the
depths of a past
forgotten memories
resurrect where unforgiving
words rise

A song
of wounds hold life's
hand and walks the sleepless
terrain bringing distance
between
two hearts

Cinquain an unrhymed stanza with 2/4/6/8/2
syllable count

Didn't take the time to count the syllables but I will say that you did the form right as it seemed right when I read it! :] This form is very easy to do but also hard at the same time. You have to get a strong poem put together in such a short amount of words but you seemed to do it and also have a really good message in your poem. The emotions were really good in this poem and they drip with love. The imagery is good as well and the flow went right along in this poem smoothly.

All in all, you have done a great job with this form and I like to see that you are trying forms as it does test your creativity and skills and I know you are talented and that's why it makes me happy to see you writing this forms and challenging yourself. Anyway, I hope to see another poem from you soon and don't ever stop writing this wonderful poems. Great job and keep writing!

Nice work with the form Meena. Sometimes memories of the past put distance between two hearts rather than bringing them closer, those are usually the memories of hurt and pain.
