Bitter Winds.

by Steven Beesley   Jun 2, 2012

Shades of gray
entwines with my
thoughts as twilight
descends.

Soon the grays will
merge with the blues and
become the bitter
darkness.

Not a star in the sky,
the clouds obscuring
everything like my
own reality.

The bitter winds howling,
they echo the coldness
felt within my heart.

I sleep not, since
sadness becomes
my only companion.

The loss of you,
too much to bear
like a fresh wound
in my heart.

^These ending stanzas says it all. Sadness does become our friend when the ones who are dear to us are lost and it creates a wound that takes a very long time to heal.

The starting stanzas shows how everything around you becomes dull and lifeless, even the very beauty of nature does not console the heart..touching..take care.
