Cruel Hearts (7/5 Trochee)

Birth of a new year awoke
with a future killed,
love has no place in a world
where hatred is filled,
sown memories turn to smoke
whilst young blood is spilled,
cruel hearts of a new world-
now rampant and thrilled.

The 7/5 Trochee created by Andrea Dietrich of 2
or more quatrain stanzas with the following set rules:

Meter: 7/5/7/5

Rhyme Scheme: a/b/c/b or a/b/a/b

    I thought the power this short poem held was incredible, and very well structured into this rare form with a subtle rhyme scheme too. The content of the poem hits you hard and I think the author has made a great job wording it in such a way that the reader's connect to the poem with empathy for the situation.

    Sky touching write filled with profound sorrowful state of emotions. This is superb piece. Wow!! Your writing technic is very unique and just.

    The precious red blood has really turned into black. This new generation people are much dishonoured. Many people show respect infront but they have an evil thought behind. But I believe that still good people are also there in the world like us.

    I like all the messages coming out form this poem.
