Why Do They Speak Of Love That Way?

Why is love ever among their lips?
And why so did they profoundly define?
If such a glorious thing did exist
Where am I in this length of time?

They speak of clouds clear and blue
Of flowers blooming in the rain
With the rainbows gleaming through
A perky sun welcoming the day.

And they talk of mountains reached
Of love melting the winter snow
Atop the world’s highest peak
Beneath the stars’ charming glow.

Why is love, to them a bird flying free?
And speak of it as butterflies
Or that the garden of love is fantasy
A magic unfolding before their eyes?

They speak of breadth and heights
And of love that spans the space
Though in this world darkness reigns
They say love always wins the race.

Why is love ever among their lips?
And why to me is love astray?
If love they say is not unfair
Then why do they speak of love that way?

    How you write such pieces. I mean I am totally jealous of you. I don't know what inspired you to write this poem. You know they say love is the most beautiful feeling, but you made love even more beautiful in the eye of the reader. Especially in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stanza.

    I enjoyed this. The sentiment, the beautiful language, all ties together with some wonderful lines, like "And of love that spans the space" in the fifth stanza. 'Spans the space', oh I liked that very much.

    I would say my favourite stanza was the third one. It had a wonderful flow about it, and a charm I can't quite articulate at this moment, sadly. But it was certainly an enjoyable piece.
