I feel like a slave to this lonely beat
The one I keep playing, a tune on repeat
It's the song of my heavy heart that I sing
Every note perfect, the familiar ring

You know that I'm not, but ask if I'm OK
And each time I answer, the same thing I'll say
I'll tell you I'm good, reply that I'm fine
Over and over, rehearsed all the time

For if I was honest and told you what's wrong
We'll get in a quarrel, you'll go on and on
Far easier for me to allow you to think
That nothing has changed, I'm not on the brink

But the record of us is worn out and scratched
The damage too great, I can't reverse back
You and I just became stuck on this loop
And I'm just so weary of jumping through hoops

If I answered you honestly, I'd tell you I'm blue
And you know deep down that what I say is true
But you want to save face, prefer to pretend
Kid yourself thinking that it's not the end

If you don't want the truth, just ask if I'm fine
I promise to keep lying, I'll say the same line
I'll keep on smiling and you pretend you can't tell
But you and I both know, this is living hell.

I get that. This poem is so true, sometimes I'm fine is because we dont want to admit a weakness. But just because we can't admit it doesn't mean we are not screaming for help.

That line "I'm Fine" its always taken for granted I feel
and when anyone hears it or even the guy in one's life just
takes it for granted and leaves it at that. If one really cares and
listens to the tone when said "I'm fine" will be able to pick
up the tinge of pain behind it. But this write shows that this
guy prefers to leave it rather then solve it.

A sad write...hope you are okay, take care...

    Congrats on the Win :)
