Five Years

by nourayasmine   Dec 12, 2017

You knew.

That's why you reoccured
for a few minutes, during
lunch break, and
my heart froze.

You were there.

You knew I was broken,
my twenty-two year old spine
holding decades of tire,

you knew
there was a little weight
in my chest,

you knew
I counted the last
1500 liras I have,
this morning

you knew
I cried in bed,
this morning.

You knew
I needed to see you
for a few minutes
during lunch break

So lovely and uplifting. It's truly beautiful when one can see a soul suffering, even sense it from far away, and know how to be completely present <3
