Somehow

by Dagmar Wilson   Dec 28, 2017

Somehow we survive
bombshells coming at us
darkness pulling us under,
bleeding hearts that have been wounded.
Loved ones simply ripped away.

Somehow we survive
this dying heat
winters leaving us paralyzed,
trees no longer have to sacrifice.

Somehow we survive
our children taken away
men fighting senseless wars,
nature acting on impulse.

Somehow we survive
shaking off sadness
regain strength,
I have recovered a spirit
that leads to a peaceful life.
