The Razor's Charms

by Matt Carroll   Oct 19, 2005

Blood, runs scarlet down my arms
I've fallen to the razor's charms
Despite my loved one's just alarms
Now I shall enter the Reaper's farms

Tears streak down from shining eyes
Broken hearted from the lies
She never came to realize
Over her words I always cried

She said "I love you" all the time
Hollow words like wind through chimes
Mixed well just like rum and limes
Her actions gave me right to rhyme

Now I'm cold, lain down to rest
Coffin cold like snowy nest
He love for me now at its test
As the Reverend claims I'm blessed

She walked away, not hurt at all
As another girl began to fall
To her knees, removed her shawl
A girl I'd known in old school halls

Her cries were soft, her tears fell fast
As she looked back upon the past
Her love for me would ever last
At least she told me, even though
It was after both my wrists were slashed...

This is a really deep emotional piece bringing back many memories. I love the rhyming pattern in this, makes it fun and easier to read. Also, making me want to read more. I can only hope you have found other outs besides cutting. With all that being said, I'm adding this to my favorites. Not many poems I read anymore I really connect with. Great job (:

Love the rhyming and whilst deeply dark the visuals are very well written.
