The End

by ChrisT   Apr 20, 2008

Until today
There was this smile
Now it's this way
And I dread every mile-
That I travel
From bar to bar
As every inch of me unravels
And that smile is so far

She brightened every morning
This was too good to be true,
I should have heed the warning,
But I'm such a fool for you
And now as I lay here
In this speechless breeze,
My only fear,
Fills me with all but ease.

Oh, how the trees grow black
And my eyes begin to fade,
I still pray you to come back,
Before the penalties are weighed.
I know though now
That when I'm all but anything
Hope isn't just how
But it's everything

I hope so dearly,
For that one "Someday"
As I stagger so wearily
And so far away
Who would've thought
This could end so quick
But now that it's brought
My blood turns thick

And now as I reminisce-
Through all the times
Of every single kiss
And of all the passionate rhymes.
I have come to find
This was over before we met
Now that I'm so far behind
And the sun has set
I bleed through you once more,
Paper and Pen
As my heart showed me the door
My mind tells me of thee end.

Truly amazing! Again... just the punctuation to help the reader figure out how to read it and get the rhythm. But, again... incredible! 5/5! <3
