How've You Been?

I'm just stopping by to say hi
And ask how you've been
I want to tell what's going on
And why I'm wearing such a silly grin.

Logan and I have good news,
He finally asked the big Q!
Of course I said yes...
I mean, what else would I do?

Mama's been good lately,
She had a bad fall about a year ago
And Richie comes by every day
But he's getting old too, you know.

I've been doing really well,
Going to work and thinking about you
And I thought I'd stop by today
Just to have something to do.

I wanted to say that I'm sorry
That I wasn't always around or near.
Especially when I just wanted you
Or needed you to dry my tears.

Daddy, I love you with all of my heart
When I come talk to you, I try to be brave
But I just can't keep from crying
As I sit here and whisper to your grave...

**My dad didn't really die. I just wrote it...

    That was so touching. It's like this completely normal conversation and then BAM! You find out all this time you've been talking to his grave. A very touching piece that too many ppl can relate to. Well done with rhyme and the flow was pretty good too!

    This poem showed a lot of imagination thankfully that is all it was but the rhyme scheme was perfect and it invoked much emotion

    Wow that poem struck me. I dont have a dad. I havent seen him in 6 years. I hate him with all my heart. nice poem by the way to get me a little rallied up by one is hard.
